Software: EvoCam

Welcome to the Haviland WebCam! It is currently situated in our living room over the baby crib. The crib is strategically placed where we can see it from the kitchen, our master bedroom, the bathroom, and Sara's home office all at the same time.

The above is a still image that was taken recently by a small iSight camera mounted nearby. The image will refresh every 30 seconds. That doesn't mean you will always get a new image each time it refreshes. You will only get a new image when the webscam software has uploaded one. If the webcam is turned off or if it has crashed, you will see the same image over and over again. Some software may change the time stamp even if the image is the same, some software will freeze the time also.

The webcam has a motion sensor! That means it will upload a new image when the camera detects the slightest movement. Even turning on or off a light can activate it. It can only upload as fast as one picture every thirty to sixty seconds, however, because it also has to rotate up 48 other images. This way I can capture more of the baby when he is active, and not use up my bandwidth when he isn't.

You can view the last 48 stills taken by the webcam at the Thumbnail Gallery or the Full Size Gallery.

If the date or time are not current, the webcam software might be jammed or temporarily down. You can try clicking the "Refresh" or "Reload" button of your web browser (usually at the top left) to get it restarted. Also try doing this while holding down the shift key on your keyboard.

If the image looks really dark or black, it's because the lights are dim or off.
